PROCEDURE
Before you undergo the microsuction procedure, your Audiologist will ask you questions to learn about any previous ear conditions and your current symptoms. A suction probe will then be inserted into the ear which gently removes the wax. Occasionally manual instruments may be used to remove harder wax and dead skin. Olive oil or sodium bicarbonate drops may also be used to soften wax.
If both ears are affected the process can take upto 30 minutes.

EAR HEALTH
Ear wax is created naturally by our ears and is there to provide moisture. We can’t see inside our ears, that’s why we do not recommend using cotton buds as it pushes the wax deeper into your ear canal where it is more difficult to come out and can potentially cause trauma. Often the excess build up of wax is what causes issues requiring removal. Microsuction is the easiest and most convenient way to get your wax out!

Microsuction is safe and for everyone. It is especially recommended for anyone with perforated eardrums , recurrent infections and narrow ear canals.
